Spring might FINALLY be here, guys! If you, like us, are ready to celebrate the warm weather on its way then you’ll also be extra happy to hear we have a ton of events coming up. We’re stoked to celebrate the Earth this month, the reason our very favorite plant is able to grow and nourish us! We’ll tell you all about how we’re celebrating Earth Day later in this post, but first, it’s 4/20 month!!!

Dude, 4/20 is weed’s favorite holiday, and we’ve got a special that will feel like celebrating your birthday all month long! We have partnered with JoStella to bring you a wake n’ bake special:

April 6: MidTown First Thursday
As always we will be offering our discount of 20% off everything in the store, so stop on by for your supplies and then go cruise MidTown. This is also the kick off day for our wake n’ bake special. Don’t forget you can spend $40 and get a blueberry muffin and coffee deal from Rebel Pioneer Bakery.
April 22: Earth Day
We love our precious Earth – the source for our clean air, water, our vibrant life, and of course, plants!!! So this is an event where we are asking folks to get involved!! Come and help our Biggest Little City get some love and clean up her streets!
From 10-2 p.m. there will be Earth Day events in our very own parking lot. The local non-profit Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful will be there from 10-12 leading a trash pick up. Plus, did you know your old weed bags are reusable? Right now we’re offering bags for purchase for $1, but we want to create a collection of free re-used bags, so bring yours in! You can also bring it with you on the day of purchase to reuse yourself.

Time: 10 a.m. check in for trash pick-up
Location: Jade parking lot (1085 S. Virginia St)
After Party: 12 p.m. on, live music, food trucks, refill stations and more
This Month: Open Call for Muralist
We are looking for muralists to submit their design to be part of painting a mural on the outside of JADE. We are looking to pair you with a specific strain of cannabis, one that makes you feel creative! Your mural will be the logo for that strain. What does cannabis inspire in you?
We want your unique style and your unique voice to come through. This wall is your canvas. Nothing is off the table, given it is appropriate to be put on the side of a building.
Location: Jade Cannabis MidTown (1085 S. Virginia St.)
Details:
- Cannabis has always been used as an inspiration for art so we are looking to give back to our local artists
- Three murals will be painted on the North side of Jade’s building
- Each mural section also includes the planter boxes next to it
- These three murals will be turned into prints and then branded as one of our house strains of cannabis
- This will be part of a three part live mural painting event running each month starting July 6th at Dancing in the Streets
Timeline:
April 14: Mural Design to be submitted
April 21: Mural finalists will be announced
May 22: Final selection will be made, muralist will be notified and assigned dates for painting (July 6th, August 3rd or September 7th)
Selection Process:
- Jade owners and staff will select their favorites
- Finalists will be displayed in Jade and throughout different social medias to allow the public to vote for the murals they want to see on the side of Jade
- May 22nd Jade will announce winner

This Month’s Charity
If you haven’t heard, we donate to a different charity every couple of months, and for the month of April and May that charity will be Scoot to the Stars dog rescue. Stay tuned for a blog post later in the month with complete details about this amazing charity, but we’ll tell you just a little about it for now.
All of the dogs that are currently up for adoption at STTS just got dolled up for a professional photo shoot with Black Poodle Studio. Starting April 1 you can go and check out the photos of the dogs up for adoption!
We are looking for donations to help out this non-profit, so for each $5 you donate you get to vote for which dog you think is the fasters. Also with each $5 donation you get entered into a drawing to win some AWESOME raffle prizes. And even BETTER! Jade is going to match your donations dollar for dollar for up to $2,000.
On May 20, come to Jade to meet the stars of Scoot To The Stars, and maybe you’ll meet your new best friend on wheels? We’re hosting a dog race where you get to see who is in fact the winner, plus we’ll do the raffle drawing. You can also help out by signing up to foster one of these precious babies!
